Purchase of Trek Alpha 1.5 Date: 5 July 2017 The process started about 8 months ago, and I was on a constant look out for a new road bike. I wanted to buy a higher end bike, however did not want to spend over 40k for it which restricted my market to the seconds market. The longer it took, I was beginning to get to the stage where I had resigned myself to buying a new road bike which would set me back substantially on the finance front. I did come close to buying a  couple of cycles, however the deal fizzled out. Over the course of the search   was beginning to lean towards buying either a trek or a cannondale bike and had ruled out all the other brands. There were a lot of cycles on sale, however I was rejecting them as they did not fit the budget. On my last brevet Rajkumar had asked me about selling my road bike as one of his colleagues was interested to buy. I had told him that I would not be selling until I bought another one. Road Bike

Date: 12 February 2016 After completing a year of cycling I wanted to ride a road bike, however the cost of the road bike kept me on the back foot since the starting price of brands like Trek, Giant, Merida were above Rs 50,000. Decathlon were the only ones offering Btwin road bikes at Rs 36,000 which was also out my budget. Was looking at a sub Rs 30,000 road bike. I was open to buying a second hand road bike if it came within budget. Had been surfing Bangalore Bikers Club and Bums on the Saddle website for about 3 months and did not come across any advertisements which fit the criteria. On 12 February 2016 I finally saw two ads for road bikes which fit the criteria. One was on Bangalore Bikers Club for a Btwin Sport 1, the model was not given but the price at Rs 6,000 was killer. I replied to the ad requesting for the contact number. The demand for this cycle increased and immediately there were other replies requesting to buy the cycle. I did not receive the contact details ...

Buying the Cycle

Date: 13 July 2014 Been a while since I realized that my daily routine was to spend long hours at work which resulted in there being no time for anything other than work. Was gaining a lot of weight and needed to get a lot of physical activity into my daily regime. The thought of cycling came up because I was doing a lot of city travelling by car and the driving was at an average speed of 20-30 Km/hr. I thought that I could do the same with a cycle and it would double up as an exercise as well. I made the decision to dedicate time on a daily basis to exercise and to cut down on work as well, since it was only resulting in my health deteriorating. I had a lot of well – wishers trying to dissuade me from buying the cycle stating that I would be at it only for a few months and after that the cycle would just lie around the house without being used. In spite of the negative comments there were a few positive words as well which encouraged me to take the dip into the world of cycling....
