This was supposed to be a rest weekend since I was planning to ride to Trichy for the 400 BRM the next weekend. However, when Rohit enquired about riding on the weekend, I was open to doing a quick ride. A 100 kilometer circuit would do no harm. Not having ridden from Hosur to Hoskote, it was an opportunity to try this route. Decided on the route being Hosur - Malur - Hoskote. As we wanted to be back early decided to start early. Rohit Bidkar checked about riding on Sunday, however, since Saturday was the only day available for me, I had to ride alone on Saturday. I set the alarm for 3:30 am. I had to force myself out of bed at 4:00 am and got ready. 4:30 am was the preferred start time, I was able to start only at 5:00 am. The 600 BRM was being repeated during the season and it was an opportunity to ride this route on the MTB. The ride was scheduled for 1 September, however, I volunteered for the ride and as such was going to be doing the volunteer ride on the subsequent weekend. It was a great experience volunteering and getting a feel of the other side of the ride. Supporting 50 riders gave an insight into the difficulties of volunteering and also the joy of seeing riders pushig their limits to complete the ride. The week flew by and it was time for the ride.
