Got a call from Sushanth that he was going trail biking to Turahalli Forest near Banashankari along with an office colleague and enquired if I wanted to join? Had never been trail biking so readily agreed. I was told to meet up with Sushanth at Udupi Gardens, BTM layout.

Left home at 5:45 am and reached BTM Layout at 6:00 am. By the time everyone assembled it was around 6:30 am and we then proceeded towards Turahalli forest. Reached the place around 7:30 am and started along the trail. Even though it is called forest, it is more of a nature trail which is used for nature walks, trail biking and bird watching. It is a beautiful location with the eucalyptus trees being lined up to form a nice trail. Nice gentle ride through the first part before there is a nice climb up a hill and then down again to the edge of the area and then back on the same route.









First experience of trail biking was enjoyable, although I lost my favorite Cyclo Computer along the trail. I learnt that the accessories need to be removed when on a trail if not secured properly since the ride is pretty bumpy.

Named Gates of Heaven, this 1,200 kilometer ride is touted as one of the most difficult rides in Bangalore if not in the country. It has an elevation gain of 13,000 meters including 3 hills and lots of rolling terrain.
