Date: 4 March 2017 Total distance: 195 Kilometers Start Time: 3:00 am Return Time:  3:00 pm With: - Altitude Profile: Koramangala – Aavala Betta - Koramangala Had been through a bout of sore throat and cold. Had not recovered from the cold but still wanted to ride as it was 2 weeks since I had ridden and I wanted to see if the cold had affected my fitness. I did not have to look up locations as Aavala Betta and Gudibande are pending. I decided to ride to Aavala Betta as it is closer, although there was a temptation to combine both the locations, I opted to take a call after getting to Aavala Betta. Date: 17 February 2017 Total distance: 308 Kilometers Start Time: 12:40 am 17 February 2017 Return Time:  4:20 am 18 February 2017 With: Rajkumar Khot Altitude Profile: Lavelle Road – Mysuru Airport - Lavelle Road After completing the SR series ride for the 2016-17 year I did not have any plans on riding brevets during the year. However, Rajkumar had still not completed his SR and when he enquired about riding the 300 BRM to Mysuru Airport I agreed. The route was not new and as such I was not keen on the route, however it was an opportunity to ride and as I did not have any other plans, I opted to ride. The ride was starting at 12:30 pm in the afternoon. Rather odd considering that the rides had always started in the early morning hours or in the evening. The timing was set probably keeping in mind that the cut-off time for the 400 BRM and 300 BRM should be the same, which was 8:30 am in the morning. However, 4 days without any riding of substance was hitting me. I wanted to get back on the road and at the same time I knew that I had not recovered sufficiently from the ride and therefore did not want to push too hard. I wanted it to be a relaxed ride without any climbing just to get the body going. The possible locations were Chikka Tirupathi and Manchanabele. I checked on the group if anyone would join and did not get any response. I checked with Dennis if he wanted to ride and he was game. We had been planning to go on cycle tours for long however we had not been able to freeze on dates. I had a near miss for the Coorg - South Canara trip in the last week of December, however there was a plan to ride to Kodaikanal and locations nearby in mid/end January. A window of opportunity opened up in end January and we started to plan the ride. The locations that we wanted to cover were Kodaikanal, Valparai, Munnar, Kochi and Trivandrum. It was only when we started looking up the distances that we found that we were a little over ambitious and that we would not be able to cover all the locations.
