7 August to 12 August Distance: 1,540 kilometers Allotted time: 128 hours 20 minutes Start time: 7 August 2022, 8:15 am Finish time: 12 August 2022 8:47 am Time taken: 120 hours 32 minutes About the ride: London–Edinburgh–London (LEL) is a randonnée bicycle event of approximately 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) over an out-and-back course between the capital cities of London (England) and Edinburgh (Scotland). LEL is the flagship event of Audax UK, it is held every four years. The 2021 edition (being held in August 2022 due to the covid pandemic) will be the 9 th edition of LEL. I was introduced to LEL in 2017 when 3 riders from Bengaluru went to United Kingdom to attempt the ride. Thanks to Mohan Subramanyam, Satish Addanki and Ashok Tiruvengadam for attempting the ride and to Mohan Subramanyam for letting us know about his LEL experience on his return. The talk at Cubbon Park still rings in the head and his experience made this a ride to attempt for all randonneuring buffs. R
